Frequently Asked Questions
These are the most frequently asked questions about CrackleFree. For other sources of help please see the Support page.
Q: What level of expertise is required
to run CrackleFree?
A: You should have a general familiarity with Microsoft Windows, and
preferably with programs like email and word processing. You need to
be able to setup one of more Contact List files, which are text
(CSV) files containing names, phone numbers, etc.
Q: What level of expertise is required
to setup my Provider(s)?
A: You need to create an account with one or more online
'Providers', who are companies on the internet who offer, for
example, web to SMS services. This will require familiarity with web
browsing and the ability to create and pay for a suitable account.
For more information see the Providers
page.
Q: How long do SMS messages take to get
to each person?
A: This will depend on the company you use (the 'Provider'), the
mobile phone operator(s) involved, the amount of network traffic,
etc., but can often be just 1 or 2 seconds.
Q: How much does it cost to send an SMS?
A: Most providers charge between 5p and 10p (UK) per message,
depending on the number of messages bought. With most Providers you
will need to buy 'credits' in advance of sending, i.e. you buy a
number of pre-paid messages.
